Adam Putnam Endorses Carol Platt for Congress

September 12, 2014 (St. Cloud, FL):  The Carol Platt for Congress Campaign continued its impressive run of endorsements today announcing the addition of Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam. Putnam, whose family and service in agriculture are near and dear to the Platt family, announced the endorsement at the Republican Party of Florida quarterly meeting in Orlando.

“Carol and her family have a history of working hard to bring people together,” Putnam said. He added, “In agriculture, one of the great things you see is the removal of all kinds of cultural and economic barriers – everyone comes together to get the job done.  That’s the kind of leader I know Carol will be and I’m proud to support her.”

Adam Putnam is Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture. In this role, he oversees the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and serves as a member of the Cabinet, alongside the Governor, Attorney General and Chief Financial Officer. Adam is a fifth generation cattle rancher and citrus grower from Polk County. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Resource Economics.

Carol Platt’s life has been profoundly shaped by service, hard work and knowing what it takes to make ends meet – in business and at home.  She is passionate about great and effective government that serves the people – and deeply concerned that neither greatness nor service are values currently representing the 9th Congressional district.  It’s what has motivated her to run – and it will be her compass when she serves.
